First off, I’m not sure why folks are having issues with figuring out it’s inverted, I expected to need a manual or something based off the existing reviews here but it’s blatantly obvious when you get it out of the bag how the setup works. If you read that like me and had reservations on purchase out of fear it’s not a straightforward tripod to use, ignore them. It is straightforward and compact. The tripod itself is solid, I’ve had no issues feeling like it was going to topple over. On a small hill in a field with no tree coverage (read: abundance of wind) it hasn’t budged. I haven’t used a full sized 600mm lens with it but, with their knob ball head I’m using it with, the 400 it maintains load and balance fine. The weight of the tripod is in a good spot, while something lighter would be nice in some scenarios I think there’s just enough weight to get a feeling that it’s anchored and the likelihood of a random gust coming through and blowing it over while not introducing a huge burden or having to `weigh` options of if I want to lug it around everywhere, if I need it I take it and it’s not a huge deal to put on my pack. The few problems I have are to be expected with the price point, adjustment can be problematic. I don’t adjust the legs with the camera body attached and there’s not really a scenario that I’d feel comfortable with doing that in. I’d adjust the middle component, but that is all the range you can really get for vertical movement with camera attached. Further, when you do initial setup and adjust the legs the knobs are on or off there is no fine grained movement which is expected at the price point. One thing that could be easily made easier if on the rods there were inch markers printer out so you could easily do a half or quarter step on the legs and ensure they are all even without having to go around after first guest and readjust.Another minor issue for me personally is that the bag is a really tight fit which is generally good but I don’t want to detach the head every time I’m doing using the tripod so depending on the head you may be able to find a way to position it while allowing the legs in close enough to still be able to zip the bag shut. If the bag had just a little more circumference it would promote more portability since it’s much easier to package up without turning head until you can find a place that allows the legs to move into the center close enough for the bag to close.
