I will start off by saying that I like stuff that lasts. I just replaced my old (1996!) truck that had 316,000 on it plus a little more. The new truck is a 2022 F-150 STX. The STX comes with box link plates but it does not come with cleats. Not quite sure why that is the case, but the sales guy told me, “no cleats.” I shopped around and settled on these. I have just installed them, and not used them yet. The installation was quick and easy. I had to jiggle them back and forth to get them to slide up, and they’re pretty snug. A little wiggle, but they seem solid. I’ll use ratchet straps to hold down a ladder and other gear. No modifications needed, they just went right in. Bonus – I have a swing case, and the cleat in that location was seamlessly compatible. Had to remove the swing case bracket in order to add the cleat, but that’s fine. They’re torx screws, but I have those bits like everyone else these days. The cleat part is metal with a thin coating, seemingly plastic. I am very happy that I chose these, especially because they seem like they’ll last. Plus, they’re “studry” and I need that. But what the heck will I do with 12 keys?
