I used these traps to eliminate seven mice in the basement. The “jaws” are very strong and effective. The trigger mechanism is very sensitive. One feature could be improved: the traps come with a red label that tells you that the trap is set. This feature is important to prevent the trap from inadvertently closing on one’s fingers, which could be very painful. Unfortunately, if you use a water flow or disinfectant, such as bleach, to clean a trap for reuse, the red label is likely to wash off, as it did for me. That can be seen in the attached photo. There no longer is the warning label for the set trap. I’m sure there’s a way to change the trap’s design so the label is more permanent.A couple suggestions: I learned that mice like chocolate, as well as peanut butter. Remind you of a well known candy that combines these? Anyhow, as the image shows, I baited the trap with some softened peanut butter into which was pressed a single dark-chocolate chip. It did the job seven times. As you can see, the chip fits perfectly into the bait well, which is not very large. I placed a couple more chips near the trap to entice the mice. The other suggestion is to use one of the small holes in the trap to attach a piece of string, with the other end attached to a weight. I learned the hard way that if a mouse is caught but not killed, it may drag an unweighted trap a long distance, making it hard to locate.Good hunting! [...]
