The media could not be loaded. This extended shaft hex adapter is playing the long game, but it didn’t have to go far before it scored the ‘genuine surprise’ in me. Its build quality feels equal to my decades old, still chugging along, collection of variously sourced hex bits, so by that measure, this new addition should be no different with durability. I think it will be chugging with the rest when the time comes for my son to take stewardship over this with the collection. For now though, this adapter is for those jobs that need me using my arm/tool kung fu moves to tussle with a distant, hard to reach bolt that feels like a couple rounds in the octagon when it’s done and out. If you’ve ever had the bruised and blooded arms that I’ve had after working on my car, then you know the bolt or parts I’m talking about. The arm can barely reach while squeezing through a space just as wide as it, and then it’s almost impossible to turn the tool with you’re entire arm wedged in to the shoulder, and your hand is left with millimeters to spare. Those ones get me so focused I don’t care or even think what’s happening to the rest of my arm, as long as I get the problem fixed. I do end up caring afterwards, when I see the raw abrasions with missing skin, and especially so, when the adrenaline wears down to the pain moving into its place, thus giving my thoughts to lamentations of open wounds around engine chemicals.I’m glad this tool will help me and my arm on the next repair like those mentioned above. It’s straightforward to use and it holds any and all the hex bits I’ve thrown at it. The shaft rotation is even and balanced in forward and reverse. There’s also not much, if there’s any, speed wobble, none that I could observe at least, so bolt slip offs should be almost nonexistent. The shaft is where my ‘genuine surprise’ was felt and it’s still revered for now. It’s the rotational sleeve that wraps most the length of the adapter. It doesn’t change any of the width or diameter this tool occupies, but it makes using it a stable and accurate experience. I can hold the shaft with my free hand while it’s rotating, and the adapter turns while my hand stabilizes it by holding the sleeve tightly. That’s impossible without the sleeve because you can’t grip a rotating shaft with any true stability, just a loose hold, with my fingers hovering the shaft. This excels over that, it’s like gold being compared to plain dirt. It’s certainly an upgrade in this category, and the first hex adapter I’ve seen with the sleeve feature. I didn’t know this had it, and the surprise discovery was fresh and kinf of invigorating to me. I definitely recommend this adapter, it has the legs to do kessel run screw jobs some 12 parsecs deep, when parsecs inches. It’ll fly through the engine chasms and caves to help you do the bloodbath tasks without anymore bruises or baths of blood. Thank you and best wishes for all.
